NPT is a chemically reactive purging compound that uses a machines’ heat to activate the power pellets. These pellets work to destabilize the old and unwanted polymer and to liquefy it so that it is much more fluid and easier to extract from the screw and barrel.
It is a ready-to-use purging compound that is added directly into the machine. At temperatures above 160° F the chemical reactions begin. NPT is a single grade product compatible with nearly all resins, eliminating the need for a processor to keep multiple purging products on hand.
